Home Theater

The newest craze in home remodeling is the home theater. Home theater rooms are created to reproduce the professional video and audio quality found in a movie theater. Most often built in the basement of a home and for some consist of nothing more than a TV and stereo with surround sound. This set-up, according to Home theater professionals is nothing more than an elaborate Living room set-up. For true home theater room design all component pieces are purchased individually to provide the best combination of equipment to fit any need and budget. To a beginner the best choice may be what is called a home theater in a box. While not as elaborate as some home theaters, they are a start and accommodate those who may not have sufficient room for a dedicated home theater system.

With the picture being the reason for a theater, a home theater projector is an important investment. The systems available range from digital projectors, overhead projectors and slide projectors – while the basic idea for each of the projectors is the same, the type of projector used will coincide with the video and environment. Home theater audio systems contain many parts and can be as simple or as elaborate as the room allows. Some of the basic pieces include an amplifier and tuner to adjust volume and select the various video sources.

A more popular system is the widely known Dolby system that supports mono and stereo usages. Other options when it comes to sound are accessories, such as a piano or theater organ similar to an actual theater.

Home theater supplies can include many things, popcorn and snack machines or for an outdoor theater include a BBQ pit and chairs for the pool allowing for a variety of seating options.

The first consideration when it comes to furniture is the home theater chair. With many styles to choose from it is almost impossible to find a set-up the does not meet a particular set of needs. A single recliner is a comfortable piece of furniture for one complete with a cup holder and snack tray. For an added experience there is available a chair called the “butt kicker,” tied into a surround sound system it can be felt through the chair giving the movie a true realistic experience.

The complete set-up and home theater installation can be as simple or complicated as one is capable of. As with most any renovation or addition to a home, it is an important piece of life that will add to the houses salability and brings hours of enjoyment
