Bed Frames

Bed frames, of course, are an essential part of a bedroom ensemble, though younger children may disagree for the fear of something being under the bed. A bed frame, however, can add a sense of style to a room and even set a mood.

Metal bed frames offer several options, a possible one of the most unique furniture choices. T he chance to have a formed metal bed of a specific design, different colored and sturdy give a sense of security knowing the metal is strong and stable.

Wood bed frames, similar to metal bed frames are able to be customized with intricate wood working. One of the most common is the sleigh bed, design to give the idea of being in an old time sleigh. While not as widely popular as they may have once been canopy beds made with large wooden poles were at one time a sign of royalty and prestige.

A modern day version of royalty and/or classy bed frame is to use bed frame risers. These risers will lift the bed frame further off the floor adding a design element of stairs by the bed. The stairs or stool is useful, while adding a decorative accent.

A unique style would be the trundle bed frame or more commonly known as a trundle bed, is also a decorative, yet useful piece of furniture. Often used in children’s rooms, the bed offers an extra sleeping place for friends, for to play on. The trundle bed, when not in use, fits neatly under the current bed until it is once again needed for use. This type of bed frame can also be useful for guestrooms, especially when such a room is used for other purposes as well.

The idea of a cheap bed frame can mean several things. To the creative individual, however, a cheap bed frame can refer to a frame made by themselves from materials already on hand. This would make it cheap in cost, but more importantly can offer a sense of satisfaction and pride. On the other hand cheap bed frames can also refer to purchasing a bed frame that is not a quality product and breaks not long after purchasing it; this could bring to the mind the old saying of “you get what you pay for.”

One of the hottest trends today is teen rooms. As teens begin find their own identity a room that expresses their own ideas, that is most important. Platform beds are popular as the offer multiple uses. A bed frame of this type, depending on the size of the platform can house a desk underneath, saving space in a small room. If used in a younger child’s room, that space can be transformed into a cave, castle or hideout.
